The Future of delivery is Self-Driving

 

Domino’s is continuing to innovate the delivery experience by partnering with Nuro -- a robotics company -- to be the first quick-service restaurant company in the U.S. to launch autonomous pizza delivery.

Domino’s and Nuro have officially launched the world’s first fully autonomous pizza delivery service to select customers in Houston. Customers who place a prepaid order on dominos.com from the participating Domino’s location can choose to have their pizza delivered by Nuro’s R2 robot – the first completely self-driving, occupantless on-road vehicle with a regulatory approval by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Customers who opt in for a self-driving delivery will receive a text with a unique access PIN. Once the robot arrives, the customer must enter that PIN on the touchscreen, which will gently open its doors upward, revealing hot pizzas.
