Burnt Rock Farm Circa 1824 – Sold at Auction

Burnt Rock Farm Circa 1824

This historic stone farm house was built in the early 1820’s. The home’s restoration incorporated many of today’s modern conveniences yet preserved plenty of its unique original features. This farm also has the original barn, built in 1825, as a support building. The property was purchased in 1969 and renovated by Mr. and Mrs. John W. Logan. It became their retirement home where Mr. Logan built a 9 hole golf course for family and friends. Annually they would hold what became known locally as the “Burnt Rock Open”. Remnants of the old course are still vaguely visible. There are 90 acres that will be offered in 2 Tracts. The house will be offered with 60 acres and the remaining 30 acres as a boundary. This property joins state land.

The auction was held on August 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Clayton, NY Opera House.
