PINE ISLAND SELLS AT AUCTION FOR $3.4 MILLION

Located on the North shore of Lake Pontchartrain, Pine Island consists of approximately 2500 acres of pristine wetlands and timberland and approximately 275 acres of mixed timberland with development potential. This property that has been in the same family for three generations was sold at public auction on October 19th after a three month marketing campaign. Eight registered bidders competed for the chance to own this incredible property with Llog Exploration of Metairie, LA winning the final bid. Named for its “islands of pine trees” located throughout the wetlands, Pine Island is known for its natural beauty, resources & wildlife. This property is unique because of its established roads for easy access throughout the wetlands acreage and around the perimeter of the 218 acre lake. In the 1970’s, building roads through wetlands was outlawed by Federal Law, so properties like Pine Island are very rare. With close proximity to the New Orleans airport, and located just off LA Hwy. 22 and only minutes to IH-12 this property is very accessible. Highlights Include:

▪ 2500+ Acres of Wetlands & timberland with established all-weather roads throughout for vehicle access (property like this is very rare)
▪ Approximately 275+ acres of mixed timberland with development potential
▪ No Conservation Easements have been placed on this property which provides potential tax benefits. ▪ Incredible hunting & fishing
▪ Lake Theodora is located on the property with 218 +/- Acres for great fishing & waterfowl and is home to the 2nd Largest Rookery in Louisiana. National Geographic has conducted several photo shoots at this lake!
▪ Less than 1 hour drive to the New Orleans Airport
▪ Development potential
▪ The Ultimate Sportsman’s paradise.

The new owner plans to use Pine Island for recreational purposes and preserve its natural beauty for future generations.
